How do you recover then?

It would be an extremely tall order for me to give you a step by step protocol on how to recover from ME/CFS. It might work for a large segment of you, but for those it doesn’t work for you’d just go away believing, yet again, that you are suffering from something completely beyond your control.  The more all the treatment you have so far received gives you this message, the longer you will suffer with CFS.

The more all the treatment you have so far received gives you this message (that your condition is beyond your control), the longer you will suffer with CFS.

In all those attempts you have made at getting well, the repeated suggestion will have been, that there goes something else that doesn’t work, and something else, and something else and so on.  The subconscious message of course, is that you’re incurable!  And the longer you meet a blank, the more you’re going to identify with the condition, and start to believe that you’re just one of those freaks of nature that nobody believes has a condition, but who just cannot join in with ‘normal’ living.

The subconscious message of course, is that you’re incurable!

This is a terrible stigma and a burden to carry round with you.  The more you believe that about yourself, the more helpless you will feel.  Survival becomes just that, survival.  How to eke out the little bits of energy you have left each week on something productive and valuable while the rest of your time is spent resting.  It is a seriously depressing scenario. And when you’re doctor says, “it’s just depression. Here are some tablets”, well, you may have developed depression indeed with the misery of your condition.  But you and I both know, that your ME/CFS diagnosed or not, isn’t just depression.  It has far many more legs than depression!

So how DO you recover then?

Well, in the article ME/CFS – seriously seeking solutions, I ask you to consider a number of questions.  These can be very difficult questions to ponder and to answer.  Especially when you have been in the habit of ignoring messages that your body really wants you to hear.

Healing from ME/CFS can be an emotional ride as you realise just what deeply held beliefs are motivating your daily activities.  I often sit with clients as they go through a rollercoaster of emotions from anger, sadness, fear, resentment, to forgiveness, especially of the self, as you realise how harsh you have been with yourself all these years: way before you ever developed ME/CFS.  As you release yourself from this self imposed prison, you will find yourself feeling more hopeful and will gradually build back up your strength, freeing up more of your energy to live instead of to battle with yourself.

As you release yourself from this self imposed prison, you will find yourself feeling more hopeful and will gradually build back up your strength, freeing up more of your energy to live instead of to battle with yourself.

How to get there though? Well, you can book in to see one of my qualified therapists who have been trained and informed about CFS/ME  Indeed, some of them are testament to their own therapies.  A few of my Open Mind Therapists who used to have ME/CFS trained with me precisely to be able to spread the word and understand more and more how to work with ME/CFS.  Each of them will offer you a tailor made service that addresses your unique personality, your circumstances and will give you the support and encouragement you need to start to put your life back in shape.  And each one of them has access to me if they need any advice and guidance to help you with your journey.

Meanwhile, I will be producing products to help you on this journey of awakening. You might like to RSS the product page so you are notified whenever a new product comes online.
