ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – the enigma!

This section of the site is dedicated to the conundrum known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or ME.  This illusive condition is often poorly understood not only by the general public, but by many health professionals in the NHS.  Even special centres dedicated to the treatment of CFS fail to tailor the treatment plan to the individual concerned.  And what can be more impersonal than an ‘off the peg’ treatment protocol that is a bit of a hit and miss affair where you see a different consultant every time you go there.  What’s worse, is you feel that they haven’t really understood your condition and that their advice is well meaning, but irrelevant to your daily life.

You can stay in denial that you have control of this condition if you want.

However, I know that each person I have ever treated with CFS/ME is completely unique.  Each person has different habits, different personalities, and different circumstances.  No two people with CFS can be treated in the same way.  And that’s what’s so special about the way I work with those that come to me with CFS/ME.  I tailor make each process uniquely to suit you and your circumstances.  Not only that, but I work with you as you develop: and you can develop, and you can recover from CFS/ME.  But you need to understand your condition and work with it and change some of your deeply held beliefs that for you, have been serving you very adequately all your life…….until you got the viral infection, or had the shock or crisis that caused you to decline.

No two people with CFS can be treated in the same way

You can stay in denial that you have control of this condition if you want.  Or you can start to do battle with some of your deeply subconscious beliefs about who you are and where you fit in in your world.  If this were a conscious thing, we could sort it all out with a few sessions of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). But unfortunately, in every case I’ve met, the disease process starts in the subconscious mind, wittling away the body’s ability to defend and repair itself.  You’ll find a number of articles in the articles section that might help shed some light on your condition.  Sometimes, even when we have revealed to us our subconscious material, we still find it difficult to put into practice the belief changes we need to make to heal our immune system.

Recovery from CFS/ME is a journey that can take just as long as you allow it to.  The more open minded you remain, the more likely you can recover from this condition.  A closed mind means you could stay ill far longer than you need to.

The more open minded you remain, the more likely you can recover from this condition.

See below for my list of qualified therapists who I have trained in the treatment of Chronic Fatigue/ME these last 5 years.  They have all received the same information and have a deep understanding of the condition we call ME/CFS.  You should find it a breath of fresh air to talk to people who truly understand your condition, who will listen to you and work through what needs to be worked through to get you to a state of recovery from Chronic Fatigue/ME.
