How to Give a Successful Presentation in 7 Easy Steps
Monday, April 13th, 2009
I wrote this e book with several types of presenter in mind. And I wrote it because during my therapy career, I have had a number of people come through who want to build their confidence to give presentations. So I’ve helped in whichever way I could to prepare them to give presentations……but one thing always lacked. While I could shore up their confidence levels and give a few hints and tips, I thought it was about time I wrote a much broader step by step guide to how to give successful presentations.
So this e book takes you from the beginning to the end of prepping and giving an interesting and inspiring presentation. My qualifications? I’ve been presenting for 15 years and more! I’ve given talks to crowded lecture theatres, conferences, psychiatrists and health care workers, GPs, PCT’s, Nurse groups as well as Business Groups and my own training courses. In my former life I also taught languages in University, FE colleges, secondary and primary schools as well as business groups.
And during those years I have sat through some great presentations. But equally memorable were the ones that were appallingly dismal.
Often very interesting subject matter is murdered by a presenter’s lack of skill in presenting. What could have been a great talk or presentation is eclipsed by nervous energy, a lack of organisation, a lack of knowledge about crowd dynamics and a general inability to be able to talk authoritatively.
I’ve witnessed it in some of the professional therapists as well as business presentations. I’ve watched mortgage brokers and insurance sales people give the most tedious of talks really believing that we are all very interested in the minutest detail of their particular industry. And I’ve watched professional therapists bore the pants off audiences with self conscious and nervous presentations. Ironic, isn’t it, that we help others build confidence yet we don’t do enough to shore up our own?
So in my Guide you’ll find 7 steps to giving successful presentations. And as an introductory offer, I’m giving you the benefit of years of my experience for just £9.95.
If you have presentations to give to interest groups, conferences, or your peers, then you’ll do best to invest this small sum to help you give much better prepared and better organised presentations. I also offer you some hints and tips about how to manage your audiences: harnessing your audience’s attention is the most important skill you need to perfect. You can make anything seem interesting if you know how to bring your audience onside.
And in my next mail I’m going to talk about the benefits of ‘you’ and the disadvantages of ‘I’ focussing your talk on who is listening, and not on who is speaking.
If you have talks lined up for the spring to help generate interest in your business, or you want to develop your confidence to give presentations on your expertise, then you’ll need this e book. You can order it by clicking below!
