Where the Healing Really Takes Place

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

In certain corners, it is wise not to suggest that the Mind is the cause of the body’s illnesses. If you do, people hear that it is their fault, that somehow they are bad, or somehow they deserve to be ill. There is alot of shame and guilt that surrounds whether we have the right (more…)

The Fallout….How are you managing?

Monday, January 11th, 2010

It’s over! Christmas that is. And we’ve hailed in the New Year and I hope it’s going to be a happy one for you. And how was it? Christmas I mean? Did you get everything you wanted and more? Or were you left with some unwelcome presents: conflict, decisions, losses, sadness…. This time of year can be so bitter sweet. Truth is, (more…)

Are you in the Mood?

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Christmas isn’t far away, and whether or not you’re in the mood for it, it’s going to be here soon. And while it’s meant to be a time for ‘good will’ it’s amazing how much ‘ill will’ Christmas can cause in your average family! Split families, inlaws, estranged brothers and sisters: all those buried hostilities creep out of the woodwork (more…)

Are you Newly Single?

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Your Feedback on the Assertiveness Course starting 21st May

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

I wanted you to have a place to share your progress and your feedback each week.  So I decided that I will open this post in this site for you to share your thoughts and your progress.

The calls started this evening, Thursday 21st May 2009, and I’m looking forward to delivering the rest of the classes in the next few weeks.

Tonight we focussed on the kind of stuff we thought Assertiveness might be and what it really is.  We looked at what stopped us becoming more confident and assertive.  And we asked the question, how much of our programming is outmoded and outdated?

Please feel free to share you progress and your feedback below.  Just click on the title of this post above and it will open up the feedback forms below. Happy listening!

Monday, April 13th, 2009

I wrote this e book with several types of presenter in mind. Assertive or Aggressive?

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

I happened to drop some leaflets off at the GP’s surgery a few days ago for my Assertiveness and Confidence class and the receptionist said about her colleague who was standing next to her: “I don’t think you need this, Ann?” To which her colleague (more…)

Saying ‘No’ need not be difficult!

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

I’ve been in the South now for 10 years. I originated from Essex but spent 15 years up in the North West where I studied for my degree and worked and lived till my marriage failed and I came back home down South to Essex.

What has this to do with “Saying ‘No’” you might ask? (more…)

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Firstly, let me wish you all great things for 2009. And I mean that really sincerely. Even in these times of economic doom and gloom, we underestimate our resourcefulness and how we can adapt to difficult times. Nothing is forever. There are miriad ways we can continue to thrive in this climate by being resourceful and above all, by refusing (more…)
